Join the fun in downtown NOLA to celebrate this year’s Fourth of July in a style that can’t be beat. New Orleans will be partying all day and night, offering music and dining during the day and long into the night, providing you with entertainment before and long after the fireworks go off at 9pm by the river. The main attraction, the fireworks are rated as the fifth best in the United States, and are made all the more spectacular as they reflect off the Mississippi River right by Woldenberg Riverfront Park. The blasts can be enjoyed from the shore as well as from the decks of two of Nola’s river steamboats or from across the river looking back at the city from Algiers Point.
The celebrations are sponsored by Budweiser, Versabar, Chevron, Zito Companies, Carhartt, NOTMC. Before the fireworks start booming and lighting up the sky, you can go ahead and begin the festivities while the sun still shines by visiting one of Nola’s premier restaurants of one of the musical performances happening all around the city. Navy Band New Orleans Brass Quintet, Strolling Riverwalk Jazz Band and Navy Band New Orleans Brass Band will start the fun early afternoon, followed by The Victory Belles, Amanda Shaw & the Cute Guys, Navy Band New Orleans Ceremonial Band later at the Jackson Square. The real fun starts at 9 pm, when the Dueling Barges will produce their famous Fireworks Extravaganza. Of course it will be visible from all over the city, but what is better than being on the “battlefield” of lights and music on Independence Day?
