Creative Tattoo Studios in NOLA

With the coming of spring, come short-sleeves, short pants or skirts and a lot of exposed body parts and tattoos. If you like tattoos and you still haven’t gotten one, spring is also a good time to get one because the weather is milder. There’s a long list of tattoo studios in NOLA and all of them are great. We’ve picked out a few for you, in case you think that your visit to NOLA is the right time to get that tattoo you’ve been dreaming of for so many years.

Downtown Tattoo

Downtown Tattoo is located at 501 Frenchmen St. and Decatur St. in the Marigny neighborhood. Though they opened last year, Downtown Tattoo are a team of artists and piercers that have been working in NOLA for many years and are very experienced. The studio is well-kept, well-lit and clean. Opening hours are: Mon-Thu, Sun 12 pm – 10 pm and Fri-Sat 12 pm – 12 am.

Electric Ladyland Tattoo

A bit further up the street, at 610 Frenchmen St, you can also find Electric Ladyland Tattoo, another great studio where you can get both tattooed and pierced. ELT has been around since 1996. If it’s your first tattoo, you can also have a look at ELT’s website which features a great FAQ section with a lot of answered questions. Opening hours are: Mon-Sat 12 pm – 12 am and Sun 1 pm – 9 pm.

NOLA Tattoo & Piercing

NOLA Tattoo & Piercing is located at 8120 Hampson St, in Uptown, Black Pearl. Their website features a gallery with more than 80 tattoos for you to get familiar with their work. If that is not enough, you can of course always contact them per e-mail or just visit them while you’re in NOLA, have a look at more of their work and get to know them better. The studio is well-maintained, clean and tidy. Working hours are: Tue-Sat 12 pm – 8 pm

Eye Candy Tattoos

Located in Lower Garden District at 1578 Magazine St is another famous NOLA tattoo studio – Eye Candy Tattoos. If you’re interested in their style you can see the studio’s five artists’ tattoo portfolios on their website. Like all other good studios, this one is also well-kept, the people are friendly and will take time to listen to what exactly you want. Working hours are: 2:00 – 10:00 Monday – Saturday.
