New Orleans is the undisputed jazz-capital of the world. This is no secret to anyone, as we all know very well that NOLA’s music scene has come to influence and determine how a lot of jazz has developed throughout the last century. NOLA has given the world people like Boyd Atkins, Louis Armstrong and Preston Jackson, just to name a few. And for 44 years, New Orleans has also been the home of the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival which was started in 1970. Just a few days ago, a month before the festival (April 26 – May 5), this year’s line-up of artists was announced. With the success of last year’s festival, expectations are high and this year’s ‘cubes’ certainly look promising. More than 80 acts on 12 stages will be attending the festival and there’s enough for everyone – from connoisseurs to newcomers. Another interesting addition to the festival is the theme of celebrating Native American culture which will be present throughout the whole festival in its layout, design and will also be represented by some of the acts. Central acts will include: Billy Joel, Jill Scott, B.B. King, Earth, Wind and Fire, Fleetwood Mac, Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews, Aaron Neville, as well as Robert Mirabal and A Tribe Called Red who will be part of the Native American theme of the festival. Though the whole list of the festival is available at the official website, we have picked out the dates and times of some of these central acts for you:

- A Tribe Called Red will be playing on Saturday, April 27 at 12:50 PM on the Gentilly Stage

- Billy Joel will be playing on Saturday, April 27 at 5:15 PM on the Acura Stage

- Jill Scoot will also be playing on Saturday, April 27 at 5:40 PM on the Congo Square Stage

- The Dave Matthews Band will be playing on Sunday, April 28 at 5:00 PM on the Acura Stage

- Fleetwood Mac will be playing on Saturday, May 4 at 5:10 PM on the Acura Stage

- Robert Mirabal will be playing on Saturday, May 4 at 2:10 PM on the Congo Square Stage
